  • This presentation will provide a discussion and analysis of Rule 1:1 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia, which governs the finality of judgments, orders, and decrees. Questions to be answered by this presentation include:  What is a “final order?” What specific type of order is a “final order?” If a final order has been entered, how is the twenty-one-clock stopped? What terms in an order will or will not suffice in an order to stop the clock? What can be done in the twenty-one days after the entry of a final order? And more…
